Playoff Game Report: Hershey Bears

April 21, 2008

Bonvie vs. Robitaille
Finally! Well, it didn’t live up to the hype, but for that to happen they would have to have been given swords and lasers, but to Turtles credit, he did drop the gloves and go buckets off. Then they danced. It was just like that scene from Dirty Dancing, except I think Jennifer Grey would have lasted longer than Louis. Dennis landed a glancing shot, and Louis fell backwards.

…and from a different angle…

Wallace vs. Pinizzotto
I am going to have to give the edge to Pinizzotto here. Wallace did do a good job defending himself and even landing a punch or two, the entire time with his jersey over his head, but because of that I am going to have to give the win to Pinizzotto.

I am still looking for video of this if anyone has it.

Playoff Game Report: Hershey Bears

April 20, 2008

We are up 2-0 now after a convincing 6-2 victory tonight. 2 fights tonight - but actually only one in my opinion, but I will cover both. Smith vs. Robitaille For what it is worth, at least Louis finally stood in there. He took a few punches, threw a few, and then got pulled down. I give this one to Smith. I especially liked the part when the linesmen came in to break it up, and Smith called them off, landed another punch or two, then took Louis down. Stone vs. Morgan Not much of a scrap here. You can see them “square off” at the end of the Smith vs. Robitaille above…. as I said previously…. not much there…

Game Report: Norfolk Admirals - Last Regular Season Game - Goodbye Dennis

April 13, 2008

WBS lost 3-2 in OT tonight, but said goodbye to a legend, as Dennis Bonvie played his last regular season game here at the Wachovia arena. He had one “fight” vs. Jay Rosehill, which I will upload a video of, but not a vote. It was more of an show than a fight - and at the end they raised each others hands in victory, a nice moment. The team honored him afterwards, and showered him with gifts, including my personal favorite, the bench from the home team penalty box. It was a great night - despite the OT loss, the Penguins clinched the division, and gained home ice advantage.

I made this banner as a little tribute to Dennis:

Here is Dennis leaving the ice for the last time in the regular season:
